Delivering high-quality Physical Education can be challenging for primary teachers, particularly when confidence and subject knowledge vary across staff teams. At King’s Lodge Community School, in Chippenham, leaders wanted to ensure that PE was not only compliant with curriculum expectations, but also engaging, inclusive, and taught with increasing staff independence over time.
Working in partnership with PH ActiveEd, the school introduced a targeted CPD programme designed to upskill teachers through lesson modelling, observation, and structured reflection.
The CPD approach focused on practical strategies that teachers could apply straight away, helping staff feel supported while developing their own delivery style.
