About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, enthusiastic and caring Childcare Leader to join our team at Bulford St Leonard’s Primary School, leading our breakfast and after-school provision.

This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys working with primary-aged children and thrives in a position of responsibility. You will take the lead in creating a safe, structured and engaging environment where children can relax, play and develop outside of the classroom day.

As Childcare Leader, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a variety of fun, inclusive activities, while ensuring high standards of behaviour management, organisation and care. You will play a key role in building strong relationships with children, school staff and families, helping to create a welcoming club that children look forward to attending each day.

This opportunity would suit someone reliable, organised and confident in leading sessions independently, with a passion for providing high-quality childcare in a supportive school setting.

  • Lead and manage the daily running of the before and after-school club
  • Plan and deliver a range of engaging activities supporting children’s development
  • Ensure the safety, well-being and enjoyment of all children in your care
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, school staff and colleagues
  • Manage the set-up and pack-down of sessions, maintaining a clean, safe and inviting environment
  • Maintain accurate records, including registers and incident logs
  • Follow all safeguarding, health and safety and company policies
  • Support and mentor other team members to ensure consistently high-quality provision

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children aged 4–11 years (essential)
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, play work, teaching assistance or sports (desirable)
  • Someone friendly, organised, flexible and dependable
  • A positive, can‑do attitude and genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Strong children behaviour management skills
  • Ability to provide safe, fun and engaging activities
  • Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and Safeguarding qualifications (desirable — training can be provided)
  • The ability to obtain an enhanced DBS certificate

Additional Benefits

  • Equipment, resources and uniform provided
  • Opportunities to progress within the company via increased responsibility and promotions
  • Private Health Care (via Salary Sacrifice)
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Free PH ActiveEd/PH Camps childcare places (for children aged 4+)
  • Ongoing internal and external CPD to increase, improve and add to your management and teaching tool kit (annual staff training week, staff development team, internal training modules, first aid and safeguarding training)
