Part-Time Sports Coach

- Part-Time employment, 4–10 hours per week (subject to change)
- Working Pattern: Timetable to be confirmed with successful candidate, based on availability
- Session Types: Breakfast clubs, lunchtime clubs and after-school clubs
- Additional Opportunities: Holiday camps and curriculum PE cover
- Pay: £14.91 – £16.25 per hour (including holiday pay and dependant on experience)
- Minimum Age: Applicants must be 18+ (Due to the nature of this role and our safeguarding and insurance obligations)
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Sports Coach to join our team on a part-time basis.
The role will be predominantly based at a school in Devizes, with some additional sessions at Keevil Primary School. You will deliver a combination of wraparound care (breakfast clubs) and extra-curricular clubs during lunchtimes and after school. Due to the nature of the timetable, this role will involve split shifts, with gaps between session times.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about helping children stay active and confident, who enjoys working in school environments and engaging young people through sport. There is also opportunity for additional hours, including holiday camp delivery and progression into curriculum PE cover, based on performance and availability.
You will be supported by a friendly and experienced team, with access to ongoing development opportunities to support your coaching journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver safe, enjoyable and engaging sports sessions during lunchtime and after-school clubs
- Create a positive and inclusive environment where all children feel welcome and supported
- Adapt activities to suit different ages, confidence levels and abilities
- Build strong relationships with children, school staff and the wider coaching team
- Manage behaviour appropriately and consistently during sessions
- Follow safeguarding, behaviour management, health and safety and company policies at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Experience coaching or leading sports activities with children aged 4–11 (essential)
- A relevant qualification in sports coaching, PE, childcare or youth work (minimum Level 1; Level 2+ desirable)
- A confident, positive communicator who can engage and motivate young people
- Someone reliable, professional and committed to high-quality delivery
- First aid and safeguarding certificates (desirable — training can be provided)
- Full, clean driving licence with access to your own transport (essential)
- The ability to obtain an enhanced DBS certificate
